On the 29th July the Club is organising a “social climb” of Errigal Mountain (805m / 2641 ft) in the Glenveagh National Park, Donegal.The route from the car park to submit is 2km, but with 500m of climb.The path varies from grassy to rocky, with some boggy sections and small amounts of scree near the summit. Moderate fitness, boots, waterproofs and basic mountain walking gear required.

The ascent (and descent) will be followed by a meal – exact venue still to be decided.

We will meet in the car park at base of Errigal on the southern side, on R251, a few miles past entrance to Glenveagh National Park at 10:30am.

NB Please note the earlier starting time!

Anyone planning to come along should phone me on 028 7772 2721 (leave message on answering machine if no-one at home) so we have an idea of numbers .

If the weather looks bad for the 29th we will re-schedule. Please ring on Thursday to check if  the walk is to go ahead.
